Downtown With Edgar

The Pie Hole
August 11, 2010

SideStreets is Edgar's weekly video blog. The entire segment is shot with Edgar's phone. This week, Edgar went to the Pie Hole in downtown Boise. Many people end up there after a late night of fun. It's nestled on 8th Street near Idaho and you can smell the pizza from a mile away. http://www.pieholeusa.com/

The Chocolat Bar
August 8, 2010

This month on Downtown with Edgar, Edgar ventures to "The Chocolat Bar". No that's not a misprint, it's spelled without an "e". The shop is located in the heart of Downtown Boise on 805 West Bannock Street. Every chocolate treat in the shop is made fresh everyday by hand. Enjoy the story and warning you may get chocolate overload.

Ghost Story Part 1
October 22, 2010

Halloween, it’s one of my favorite holidays. I think the reason why is because every year my brothers and I would compete for “who could get the most candy”. We didn’t just trick-or-treat, we would strategize, do reconnaissance, and mapped out how to get the most candies in one night. We combed entire neighborhoods and left them like a tornado had just struck a mid-west mobile home park. Halloween just brings back great memories!

On this episode of Downtown with Edgar, I joined in on a ghost investigation at the Pioneer Cemetery. The cemetery is in Idaho City, a historic Gold Rush town.

I broke this episode up into two different parts. In Part 1, I give a little background and then do the investigation.  Then in Part 2, I’ll tell you if ghost researchers found anything in their videos, photos, or audio recordings. Enjoy, and thank you to the International Paranormal Reporting Group.  http://www.iprgc.com/

Curb Cup II Boise
August 31, 2010
This week on SideStreets I went to the Curb Cup in downtown Boise. This is the second year of the cup. The whole downtown area was packed with people. More than 26,000 came out to watch over 100 performers take to the streets. I had a ton of fun and was impressed by the level of talent out there. http://www.boisecurbcup.com

Brewing Beer

September 30, 2010
Because I studied German for one semester, I thought I would brush up on my Deutsch, and go make beer at Highlands Hollow Brewhouse, just in time for Oktoberfest. “The Hollow” is tucked away in Boise’s Northend on the road up to Bogus Basin. The restaurant and pub has nine handcrafted beers on tap. The restaurant reminds people of a Bavarian ski lodge. I learned a lot about beer making and tasted some good beers. Check out the video and the restaurant. Happy Oktoberfest and Auf Wiedersehen!!
The Matador
September 10, 2010

On this episode I went to a new restaurant/bar on 8th St., The Matador. The Matador serves up Tex-Mex style food and has the largest selection of tequila I've ever seen. I learned a lot about tequila and had some great tasting food. Enjoy! www.matadorseattle.com/

Let's go Surfing!
August 25, 2010

I went on vacation to Kona, Hawaii. While sitting on the beach enjoying a fruity drink -- a drink a man can only enjoy while lounging in a chair on vacation -- I noticed some surfers off in the distance with long wooden paddles. I said to myself, "self, we can do that, how hard could it be? It's like paddling through the raging rapids of the Boise river" (accept for 15 foot waves, dolphins, sharks and your occasional curious sea turtle). Let me just say, it's a lot harder than it looks.  http://www.hyprformance.com/

Ghost Story Part 2
November 05, 2010

Here it is the conclusion to our paranormal investigation at the Pioneer Cemetery in Idaho City. In part 1, we gave you some background, and details about the history of Idaho City, which is 50 miles outside of Boise. In this episode we show you what we found.

For those who haven't watched part 1 make sure you do, but here's where we left off: We were sitting down on the ground in the middle of the cemetery. We were trying to communicate with spirits that haunt the grounds.

We did this investigation with the International Paranormal Reporting Group. The executive director of the group, Marie Cuff, has done paranormal investigations for more than 25 years. Here's their Web site www.iprgc.com. I had a lot of fun shooting this episode and learned a lot about the tools ghost hunters use for paranormal investigations. Enjoy and sleep tight!
